Job Description
- Logansport High School is seeking a dedicated Assistant Principal for Curriculum and Instruction to join our leadership team and school community.
- This role is instrumental in managing curriculum development, teacher evaluations, academic testing, and professional development initiatives.
- This role includes overseeing the Guidance Department, ACHIEVE Center, Early College program, and other duties as assigned.
- This contract will be for 205 days, 8 hours per day
Job Requirements
- Curriculum, Instruction, and Professional Development: Oversee curriculum and instruction initiatives while leading professional development for staff, aiming at continuous improvement in teaching and learning.
- Testing Coordination: Oversee academic testing and work closely with the Director of Guidance on coordinating and managing various testing responsibilities, ensuring a smooth and efficient testing process for students.
- Teacher and Staff Evaluations: Evaluation of certified and non-certified staff.
- Supervising School Events and Activities: Supervise various school events and activities after school hours.
- Upon offer, applicant must complete and clear drug screen and expanded criminal history background check for school personnel as required by Indiana state law.
Job Qualifications
- Certification in School Administration and Supervision: Must hold a valid certification in school administration and supervision, indicating formal training and qualification for the role.
- Teaching Experience: Minimum of five years teaching experience.
- Demonstrated Leadership Experience: Proven leadership capabilities at a school administration level, with a track record of effectively managing school operations and leading educational teams or equivalent.
- Deep Knowledge of Teaching Methodologies: Possess a deep understanding of various teaching methodologies, especially those pertinent to the high school level, to support and guide instructional practices effectively.
- Strong communication, well organized, positive attitude, flexible, dependable, patient, and ability to lead others.
