Job Description: Administrator
- The elementary principal serves as the facilitator for the smooth operation, safe and orderly environment, and works to ensure a quality educational experience for all students who attend Landis Elementary School
- Contract is for 210 days, 7/14/25-6/5/26) / 8 hrs/day
Job Requirements:
- Establish and maintain a guaranteed and viable curriculum
- Maintain a safe and orderly environment
- Facilitate collegiality, professional conduct, and teacher competence
- Enhance parent and community involvement at Landis
- Directs all administration for the School Improvement Process for the instructional and curricular programs
- Evaluates and supervises the work of assistant principal
- Directs the development of in-service programs for building staff
- Develops, maintains, and communicates building procedures to staff, parents, and students
- Directs the development and maintenance of effective student record systems
- Develops and/or maintains effective building and corporation safety, emergency, and disaster procedures
- Shares responsibilities for employment, assistant, orientation, and supervision of all building teaching, clerical, and library staff
- Implements Board policies and collective bargaining agreement provisions applicable to assigned building adherence to all state and federal laws and regulations applicable
- Accounts for all resources entrusted to his/her care by the school corporation or other organizations
- Administers the corporation personnel accounting system for all building staff
- Develops and maintains an effective school/community relations program appropriate for Landis Elementary School.
- Participates actively in professional growth activities
- Is a member of the District Leadership Cabinet
- In cooperation with the Facility and Grounds Supervisor, directs the development and administration of an appropriate maintenance program for the school building and grounds.
- Cooperates with other corporation administrators in the best interests of the school corporation.
- All other duties as assigned by the Superintendent
- Upon offer, candidate must complete and clear drug screen and expanded criminal history background check for school personnel as required by Indiana state law
Job Qualifications:
- Valid Certification for building level administrator
- Proven ability to provide leadership
- Knowledge and skill in the application of all statutes, rules, regulations, case law, and school corporation policies affecting the enrollment, attendance, and supervision of Landis Elementary School
- Skill in the use of the school corporation elementary teacher evaluation system: includes observation, report preparation, and conference skills and sufficient knowledge of teaching methodologies to provide assistance to teachers requiring instructional assistance
- Knowledge and skill in the use of participatory/collaborative leadership
- Knowledge of and skill in the application of programming procedures for elementary students in Indiana
- Knowledge of and skill in the application of building and school corporation purchasing and accounting procedures
