Health and Safety Specialist
The Health and Safety Specialist will implement policies to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.
Duties/Responsibilities:
· Inspects all facilities to identify safety, health, and environmental risks.
· Develops and implements inspection policies and procedures, and a schedule of routine inspections.
· Develops health and safety procedures for all areas of the company.
· Prepares and delivers training to cover emergency procedures, workplace safety, and other relevant topics.
· Monitors compliance with safety procedures.
· Drafts inspection reports to document inspection findings.
· Ensures that material safety data sheets are maintained and readily accessible when needed.
· Maintains records of discharge of or employee exposure to hazardous waste and/or pollutants, as required.
· Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
· Extensive knowledge of environmental regulations and policies.
· Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
· Proficient in technology and equipment used in environmental inspections.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
Education & Experience:
· Preferred Bachelor’s Degree in related field in Occupational Health & Safety with 2 years’ experience or
· An Associate Degree in related field in Occupational Health & Safety with four (4) years of experience
Preferred Certifications
· Safety Trained Supervisor Construction (STSC)
· Hold a class "A" Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with the ability to become certified to become trainer for new employees
· Certified in CPR/AED/First Aid
Physical Requirements:
· Physically able to conduct inspections and carry equipment used for inspections.
· Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
· Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at a time.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
