Job Summary
The Loganville Police Department is currently accepting applications for the position of Police Officer. All applicants must possess Georgia POST Peace Officer Certification or meet all requirements for enrollment in Basic Mandate Training
Duties
- Patrol assigned areas to deter and detect criminal activity.
- Respond promptly to calls for service, emergencies, and incidents.
- Conduct traffic stops and enforce traffic laws.
- Investigate crimes, gather evidence, and prepare detailed reports.
- Testify in court as needed regarding investigations and arrests.
- Provide first aid and CPR in emergency situations.
- Engage with the community to build trust and address concerns.
- Manage conflicts effectively to de-escalate potentially volatile situations.
- Collaborate with other law enforcement agencies on investigations and operations.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in criminal justice or related fields is preferred.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Certification in First Aid and CPR is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of law enforcement practices, immigration law, and loss prevention techniques is a plus.
- Strong conflict management skills to handle various situations professionally and calmly.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in high-pressure environments.
- Must pass background check, polygraph examination, medical examination and meet physical fitness standards required for the role.
- Must pas an oral review board.
