Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Equipment Management: Monitor and track port equipment for multiple terminals, including cranes, forklifts, trucks, and other heavy machinery, ensuring they are operational and properly maintained to eliminate unnecessary cost.
- Maintenance Coordination: Schedule routine maintenance, inspections, and necessary repairs, working with internal teams and external service providers.
- Inventory & Procurement: Maintain an up-to-date inventory of parts, tools, and supplies, ordering replacement as needed while controlling costs.
- Scheduling & Allocation: Coordinate equipment usage to support cargo operations, minimizing downtime and maximizing efficiency.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure all equipment meets OSHA, DOT, and other regulatory compliance requirements, make every effort to maintain an injury free workplace and keeping detailed maintenance and safety records.
- Vendor Coordination: Communicate with suppliers and contractors for equipment repairs, servicing, and procurement.
- Recordkeeping & Reporting: Maintain logs of equipment usage, maintenance history, and inspections, providing reports and manage all information for auditing purposes.
- Collaborate & Communicate: Work alongside operations teams, mechanics, and management to ensure the right equipment is available when and where it’s needed.
- Budgeting: Ensure assets are properly maintained. Ensure proper procedures are followed for any equipment damages
- Software: Work with E-Maintenance program to track scheduled PM’s and work orders
- Regularly walk through the terminals to perform random equipment audits
Qualifications & Requirements:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in working with light duty and heavy machinery
- Valid Driver’s License and ability to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential Card (TWIC)
- Knowledge of heavy machinery, mechanical systems, and maintenance procedures is preferred.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Products including Excel and Word
- Resolve problems through solid decision-making
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Available to work Monday - Friday 7:00AM - 3:00PM
- Salary: $23-25/hr
