The Heavy Equipment Mechanic will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of a variety of heavy equipment used in port operations. This includes cranes, forklifts, loaders, trucks, and other diesel and hydraulic powered machinery. The ideal candidate will have experience in diesel mechanics, hydraulics, and electrical systems, ensuring all equipment is in safe and operational condition to support the efficient flow of cargo.

- Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in heavy equipment.
- Perform routine maintenance, including oil changes, brake repairs, and fluid checks.
- Troubleshoot and repair diesel engines, transmissions, and hydraulic systems.
- Conduct safety inspections and ensure compliance with OSHA and port regulations
- Maintain accurate service and repair records
- Operate diagnostic tools and repair equipment
- Collaborate with operators and supervisors to identify and resolve mechanical issues promptly.
- Assist in emergency breakdown repairs to minimize equipment downtime.
- Keep work areas clean and organized while following proper safety procedures.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a heavy equipment mechanic, preferably in a port, construction, or industrial setting.
- High school diploma or GED required, technical certification in diesel or heavy equipment mechanics preferred
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
- Proficiency with diagnostic software and mechanical tools.
- Welding and fabrication experience is a plus.
- Must have a valid driver's license

- Scheduling:
- Monday - Friday, day shift with nights and weekends as needed.
- Compensation and Benefits:
- $22-25/hr. Based on experience
- Regularly available over time

Salary : $22 - $25
