What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Consultant/Consultant position at Logistics Capital & Strategy?
We are looking to hire a Consultant/Senior Consultant to support our Washington, D.C. area financial and strategy advisory practice. Successful candidates will have 1-5 years of experience in a consulting or business environment, will be intellectually curious individuals who work well in teams, are eager to learn, and can maintain high levels of attention to detail in a fast-paced environment. They will also have proven experience effectively prioritizing workload to meet deadlines and work objectives.
Logistics Capital & Strategy (LCS) offers a challenging, well-compensated opportunity for those with industry experience. We are seeking candidates with the ability to "tell a story" through the creation of compelling client presentations with demonstrated ability to write clearly, succinctly, and in a manner that appeals to a wide audience. Prefer people who have strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills with experience exercising mature judgment and who can work independently with minimal guidance.
THIS POSITION IS IN-PERSON. CANDIDATES MUST BE ELIGIBLE TO WORK IN THE US. NO VISA SPONSORSHIP/OPT/CTP CANDIDATES WILL BE CONSIDERED.
Successful candidates will have the ability to:
- Develop financial, valuation, or other business models using Excel and Tableau
- Lead or support strategy engagement teams from origination to transaction completion
- Prepare presentation materials for active engagements and marketing activities via PowerPoint
- Conduct primary and secondary research on costs, customers and competitors
Desired Skills and Experience
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills - Ability to build complex, quantitative models using disparate data sources
- Skilled with Microsoft PowerPoint - Ability to creatively synthesize quantitative data output into compelling, qualitative presentation materials
- Experience with quantitative data collection and synthesis
- Experience with Tableau and/or other data modeling/visualization software packages
- Familiarity with transportation or logistics industry
- Knowledge of general business/financial/accounting concepts
- College Degree (Minimum of Bachelor's degree; any academic field, but preference given to economics, statistics, business or other analytical majors)
Other Qualifications:
- Educational background that demonstrates critical thinking, sound judgment, and the ability to provide solutions to complex problems
- Willingness to learn and take initiative
- General enthusiasm for the transportation and logistics industry
- Effective communicator
- Ability to multi-task while still remaining attentive to detail
- Team player that is able to switch roles at a moment's notice
- Strong interest in collaborative work within a small-firm environment that supports the development of a wide range of skills and knowledge
- Flexibility with regards to work schedule and the hours required to finalize deliverables
- Ability and willingness to travel to client sites as needed
- Additional experience with statistical modeling software (i.e. Quantrix, SQL, R, SAS, etc.) or programming languages (i.e. Python, Pandas, , etc.) are a plus
