Job Summary: As a Maintenance Supervisor at LogistiQ, A Division of LEWCO, you will be a part of our Maintenance team. The ideal candidate will oversee installations, maintenance, and repairs of machinery, equipment, physical structure, and electrical systems in a commercial and industrial setting.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following: (Other duties may be assigned)
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the maintenance department, including contractors.
- Evaluates machinery and equipment.
- Manages and performs maintenance work as needed with machinery malfunction and discusses machine operation variations with supervisors or other maintenance workers to diagnose problems or repair machines including but not limited to:
- Defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts, cleaning and lubricating shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.
- Installs and repairs of electrical apparatus, such as transformers and wiring, and electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment.
- Lays out, assembles, installs, and maintains pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
- Installs, programs, or repairs automated machinery and equipment such as robots or programmable controllers.
- Set up and operate machine tools such as lathe, grinder, drill, and milling machine to repair or fabricate machine parts, jigs and fixtures, and tools.
- Operates cutting torch or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts.
- Perform building and grounds maintenance work and supervisory duties as needed.
- Develops maintenance procedures and schedules.
- Ensures maintenance and repair work is completed correctly in a timely manner.
- Assists with departmental budget estimates and costs of specific repair projects.
- Orders tools, supplies, and equipment.
- Leads safety inspections for building and grounds maintenance department.
- Perform maintenance work as needed.
- Escalates issues to management and recommends solutions.
- Follows all company policies and procedures and adheres to Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) safety regulations.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Hires and trains maintenance associates.
- Organizes and oversees the schedules and work of maintenance associates.
- Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
- Handles employee conduct as needed and in accordance with company employee handbook and in coordination with Human Resources.
Travel Demands:
- May need to travel locally on occasion.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Knows maintenance best practices.
- Proven experience in installation, programs or repair of automated machinery and equipment such as robots or programmable controllers.
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions, schematics, mechanical drawings, component manufacturer's literature, etc.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division). Able to convert decimals to fractions and vice versa. Ability to read a tape measure within 1/16β.
- Demonstrates time management and organization skills. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Manages maintenance associates and has strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
- Successful completion of 60-day probationary period.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- OSHA 10-hour training preferred.
- Forklift and scissor lift experience required.
- A minimum of three years of maintenance experience required.
