Job Summary
We are seeking a professional and courteous representative to support our patients via telephone, fax, and mail. The ideal candidate will provide high-level customer service while maintaining a satisfactory response rate according to company standards.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Answer a high volume of calls from patients and provide exceptional customer service.
- Retrieve voice messages from the mailbox and return patient calls within 24 hours, researching inquiries as needed.
- Respond to patient requests by telephone, fax, or email, reviewing requests, providing information requested, or routing requests to the proper person.
- Provide patients with their claim balance upon request.
- Update patient insurance information in the system and re-bill to the new insurance carrier if necessary.
- Perform daily mailings of letters to patients and HCFA claim forms.
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required.
Education
A High School Diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
Computer Skills
Prior MS Office experience, including proficiency with Excel and Word, data entry, and demonstrated ability to use the appropriate data collection software, is required.
Experience
One to two years related experience is preferred.

- Ability to simultaneously converse over the phone, problem solve, and enter data in the client software database.
- Pleasant telephone voice/manner.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
- Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedural manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
