Based in Bellingham, Washington, Logos also has operations in Chandler, Arizona and Puebla, Mexico.About this role : We are seeking a full-time acquisitions and development editor to advance our vision and mission by acquiring, commissioning, and developing new titles that promote our editorial stance and deepen our publishing portfolio, especially in the Bible reference and Biblical Studies categories.About Lexham : Lexham Press publishes books that love the word, love the faith, and love the church. We believe God’s words and works are for proclamation—for the instruction, encouragement, endurance, and hope of all God’s children. And so our books are filled with the good news of God’s word for worshipers and the wounded.Responsibilities : Manage the Evangelical Exegetical Commentary series (EEC) and the Evangelical Biblical Theology Commentary series (EBTC)Acquire and shepherd books through the editorial process, from proposal to publication, for Lexham Press (12 titles acquired per year, 12 titles shepherded per year)Solicit and evaluate proposals and manuscripts (this includes originating ideas for books that should exist but don’t and finding the right author)Build and sustain author relationshipsNegotiate author and agent contractsProvide developmental guidance to authors to improve their manuscriptsWork with editorial colleagues during copyediting, typesetting, and proofreadingCollaborate with the marketing team on titles, covers, and marketing copyRequirements : PhD in Biblical Studies3–5 years experience performing acquisitions and development editorial workExtensive knowledge of the setting and situation of contemporary ChristianityWorking knowledge of church history and theologyProficient in Koine Greek and Biblical HebrewWorking knowledge of German and FrenchProven capabilities for networkingStrong, professional communication skills (verbal and written)Self-starter who meets deadlines and manages schedules and detailsCompensation : The U.S. base salary for this full-time position ranges from $60-80k per year. Logos salary ranges are determined by role, position level, and location. The range displayed on each remote job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.Note :
