SCOPE OF POSITION:
The Forecast Analyst & Buyer is responsible for forecasting demand, managing inventory levels, and ensuring the seamless procurement of goods. This role requires strategic thinking, strong analytical skills, and a proactive approach to optimize inventory, minimize stockouts, and maximize supplier performance. The position will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure business goals are achieved efficiently.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree (4-year) in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field required.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in demand planning and procurement.
- Proficiency in demand forecasting software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Key Responsibilities:

Demand Forecasting and Planning:
- Utilize demand forecasting software to predict inventory needs and align with sales and operational goals.
- Analyze historical data, market trends, and seasonal fluctuations to develop accurate demand plans.

Inventory Management:
- Monitor and maintain optimal inventory levels to ensure alignment with company KPIs.
- Identify and address inventory inefficiencies, including excess and obsolete stock.

Procurement and Supplier Management:
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure consistent quality, lead time adherence, and cost control.
- Evaluate and negotiate contracts with suppliers to secure favorable terms.

Performance Analysis and Reporting:
- Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate inventory efficiency and supplier performance.
- Provide actionable insights to improve procurement and demand planning processes.

Other duties as assigned that include but not limited to:
- Help in all areas of inventory control which includes but not limited to OSD's (Over, Short and Damage) Freight Claims, Cycle Counts, Inventory returns, and Inventory discrepancies.
- Maintain, create and approve purchase orders and update order acknowledgments to verify cost, order quantity and ship dates.
- Check all return authorizations for completion
- Work with pricing department to maintain cost in P21
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

Days Inventory on Hand (DIO):
- Formula: Forecasted DOIOH from Blue Ridge
- Purpose: Calculates the average number of days it takes to sell the entire inventory. Lower DIO indicates better inventory efficiency.

Stockout Rate:
- Formula: (Number of Stockouts ÷ Total Orders) × 100
- Purpose: Measures how often items are out of stock when customers order them. A lower stockout rate suggests better inventory planning.

Supplier Lead Time Variability:
- Formula: Standard deviation or variance in lead time from suppliers
- Purpose: Tracks consistency in supplier delivery performance. Higher variability can lead to stockouts or excess inventory.

Purchase Order Accuracy:
- Formula: (Correct Orders ÷ Total Orders) × 100
- Purpose: Measures how accurately orders are fulfilled by suppliers. Higher accuracy reduces the likelihood of discrepancies and returns.

Obsolete Stock Percentage:
- Formula: (Obsolete Inventory ÷ Total Inventory) × 100
- Purpose: Tracks the percentage of stock that is no longer sellable. Reducing obsolete stock helps minimize waste and tied-up capital.

- Formula: (Actual Purchase Price - Standard Price) × Quantity Purchased
