What are the responsibilities and job description for the 1st Grade Spanish Immersion Classroom Teacher position at Loker Elementary School?
The Wayland Public Schools is currently seeking candidates for a Spanish First Grade position for our 90/10 Spanish One-Way Immersion Program The successful candidate will be bilingual and possess the ability to teach all subject areas in Spanish. This individual will be keenly focused on prioritizing the individual learning needs of students in supporting their academic, social, and emotional development in addition to scaffolding their Spanish language skills. The successful candidate will also effectively collaborate and partner with the other members of the Wayland Spanish Immersion Team in the continued growth of the program.
Terms of employment are in accordance with the Agreement Between the Wayland School Committee and the Wayland Teachers' Association, Inc.

Minimum Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree with at least 36 semester hours in Elementary Education;
2. Graduate training and/or degree in elementary education or a related area;
3. Appropriate Massachusetts licensure;
4. Experience at the elementary level;
5. Fluent (native or near native proficiency) in Spanish;
6. Satisfactory, supervised experience within the last five years as a teacher, student teacher, intern, or apprentice in this discipline;
7. Experience with diverse populations and commitment to Wayland’s goals of diversity and inclusion;
8. Possess those personal and professional characteristics necessary to carry out the responsibilities of the position.
