The Market Counter Associate is responsible for providing excellent customer service and ensuring the smooth operation of the Market counter.
Duties and Responsibilities including but not limited to:
- Greeting customers warmly and assisting them with their needs at the Market counter
- Answering phone calls and taking orders in a courteous and professional manner
- Cutting cheeses, serving prepared foods, and ensuring presentation and portioning meet company standards
- Assisting customers with questions and handling minor issues or concerns that may arise
- Stocking and rotating retail products to maintain a fresh and organized display
- Packaging foods for retail, including prepared foods, nuts, bulk items, etc.
- Preparing food items such as smoothies, acai bowls, and other menu offerings
- Communicating effectively with kitchen staff regarding orders, customer requests, and dietary preferences
- Completing opening and closing duties in line with company procedures
- Maintaining cleanliness and organization within The Market, including cleaning tables after guests leave
- Following all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines for food handling and preparation
- Ensuring products are displayed and prepared to the highest standards
- Performing additional duties and projects as assigned by management
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- At least one year of experience and/or training in the food & beverage industry and/or retail/customer service is preferred, but not required – we will train the right person
- Basic computer skills and ability to learn necessary programs
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to providing excellent customer service
- Energetic, enthusiastic, and creative with strong attention to detail
- Flexible personality with the ability to prioritize tasks and adapt to changing business needs
- Able to follow instructions and established procedures
- Capable of multitasking and remaining calm under pressure
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with customers, team members, and leadership
- Neat and clean in appearance
- Flexible availability, including the ability to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 6 hours) and lift up to 25 lbs
Starting at $16/hour
