Description :

This role will be dedicated to supporting our French Toast school uniform line.

The associate designer will work with the Design Director - in bringing the vision of the Brand to life through innovative, trend-right and brand-right trims, fabrics and designs. You will design product lines from concept to hand off at the pre-production stage with a focus on fit, fabric and comfort. This position must be able to identify emerging fashion trends and business opportunities to be at the forefront of design in this zone within the right price point that will create a profitable margin. Primary Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following :

Work with Design Director to create seasonal product lines – from market research, mood board
creation, designing, merchandising and fit.
Responsible for researching / shopping the market in order to identify new trends / inspiration, fabrics, techniques, etc.
Designs, sketches and creates mac packs for every style within that product line to include all technical information clearly detailed to hand off to Product Development
Create and maintain all seasonal and replenishment merch pages
Prepare and update competitor analysis
Create and update category boards seasonally
Create SMU styles as needed
Work with Designer / Graphic artist to create embroideries as needed
Attends all first proto and production fittings
Check in, tag and manage all samples for the season
Adheres to time and action calendar

Excellent organizational, time management, communication and presentation skills.

In-depth knowledge of silhouettes, fabrication, color ways, sewing techniques, graphics and trim

Fast, efficient, nimble. Experience working in a shifting and collaborative environment with a great dealof constructive feedback and input.

Must be able to work effectively in a fast paced environment and meet deadlines

Exhibits passion and takes initiatives continuously

Utilizes productive work methods

Strong time management Exercises sound judgment

Displays consistent innovation on the job

Meet deadlines and follows through with all tasks, assignments and job duties in a timely manner

Experience with PLM, 3D Design and Browzwear

Education :

College degree in Fashion Design or a related field.

3 plus years design experience.

Requirements :

Specialized Knowledge / Technical Skills :

Strong computer knowledge including Microsoft Excel.

Knowledge of MS office

Proficient sketching in Illustrator

Exceptional Photo Shop skills.

Strong knowledge of garment construction and textiles, including price points and merchandising needs.
