Job Description
MH: Radiology Administration- (Full Time, Days) -
Job Summary: The Director-Radiology oversees Clinical Operations, including manages the informational, quality assurance, regulatory compliance, clinical performance and operational functions of all assigned sections of the department. Serves as a leader and role model for Radiology employees within and outside the organization. Leads the modality managers and other assigned staff, assisting with staffing concerns, collaborating on resource utilization, resolving performance management issues, as well as managing clinical and support activities. Collaborates with the Executive Director, Section Chiefs, multi-disciplinary teams, support personnel, physician partners, and vendors. Supports a culture of continuous improvement that promotes and defines clinical excellence. Meets with customers, partners and team members to assure service levels are maintained. Provides leadership for outstanding performance and customer service. Accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful of all. Performs other duties as needed.
Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Radiologic Technology, Healthcare Administration, Business, or other related field required (Bachelor’s Degree in progress accepted, with quarterly reports). Master's Degree in Business, Health Care Administration, or other related field preferred. Minimum five years of leadership experience required.
Knowledge and Skills: Demonstrated ability to communicate with all levels of the organization. A broad understanding of imaging technologies and processes; A working knowledge and ability to apply Information Technology to better understand analyze and communicate information needed to manage and operate the department; Demonstrated ability to develop business plans, budgets and develop and implement action plans as variances are experienced. Broad knowledge of quality, patient safety, performance improvement, regulatory requirements, medical staff structure, peer review and legal aspects of care. Knowledge of quality, performance improvement and patient safety programs that are data-driven. Able to read; write legibly; speak in English with professional quality; use computer, printer, and software programs necessary to the position (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). Able to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others; provide leadership; be assertive and consistent in enforcing policies; work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure; lead, supervise, teach, and collaborate; accept direction. Able to communicate effectively in English in person, in writing, and on the telephone; think critically; work independently; perform basic math and statistical functions; manage multiple assignments; compose written material; work well under pressure; problem solve; organize and prioritize workload; recall information with accuracy; pay close attention to detail. Able to distinguish colors as necessary; hear sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the telephone, and identify and distinguish various sounds associated with the workplace; see adequately to read computer screens, and written documents necessary to the position.
Licensures and Certifications: California Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT) license in Radiology required. Advanced certification in one or more Imaging Modalities by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) required. Certified Radiology Administration (CRA) preferred.
