Role Description:
We are looking for someone like you to fill our Shipping Associate Position! Full Time position preferred but will consider part time. While cross training in all areas will be needed for both your knowledge and understanding of procedures, your position will mainly be that of a member of our shipping department. The Shipping Associate will be responsible for the day-to-day shipments of orders, including both domestic and international orders. Specific procedures include but are not limited to:
- Processing all outgoing orders for our domestic and international customers using Shippo, UPS, and USPS databases.
- Orders to be reviewed for accuracy prior to packing.
- Appropriate product packaging and box size selected.
- Determination of best rate and carrier for order package.
- Need to be able to lift/carry boxes weighing between 25-50 lbs. on a regular basis.
- Assist warehouse supervisor with product deliveries and storage.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of basic computer skills required.
- On time attendance is a MUST.
- Knowledge or experience in Shippo, UPS, and USPS programs are preferred, but not required.
- Both weekday and weekend hours are expected (at least one weekend day expected per week).
- Experience with shipping is preferred but not required.
- Experience or knowledge of model trains is preferred but not required.
- Warehouse and retail experience preferred.
- Ability to lift 25 to 50 lbs. or more.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Compensation:
- Training Pay: $16 per hour paid bi-weekly via direct deposit (provisional) - training periods are typically 2-3 weeks, depending on performance.
- Expected Wage Range once trained: $17- $22 per hour - our accountant will provide further assistance if, and when, regular employment is started.
- Starting Wage is dependent on experience and performance.
- Paid Lunchtime and breaks (typically 20-30 minutes).
- Annual bonuses paid based on performance.
A Lombard Hobby employee application will need to be filled out, along with Federal and Illinois W4 forms, if you are selected to be a candidate for this position.
