Lifeguard (Seasonal)

Job Summary

• Lifeguard needed for seasonal, private swim club, May through September

Qualifications

• Experienced swimmer
• 15 years of age or older
• American Red Cross-certified in Lifesaving, CPR, First Aid, and AED

Duties

• Primary responsibility is to prevent drowning and injuries from occurring by minimizing or eliminating hazardous situations or behaviors in the pool and the Club
• Must be able to effectively communicate Club policies and the reasons for their existence
• Perform rescues and administer first aid, CPR, AED, and related responses as needed
• Perform opening and closing responsibilities
• Perform routine rounds and similar duties
• Maintain cleanliness and safety

• A courteous and positive attitude toward patrons and staff
• Participate in trainings
• Attend staff meetings

Availability

• Must be able to work 16-40 hours per week
• Season runs daily, May 11 – Sept 29, 2024
• Hours range from 6:30am to 10:30pm

Compensation

• Pay ranges from $12 to $18 per hour commensurate with experience
• Optional $30 per 30-minute private swimming lessons during non-working hours
• Reimbursement for lifeguard certification costs
