Position Description:
The Mold Setter position is a job requiring high technical and mechanical aptitude. The Mold setter position’s career path for those looking for a long-term career with a growth-oriented company is a processor position. This position is responsible for coordinating, performing, and managing the activities of setting up molds, aligning raw material for runs and removing molds upon job completion. This position requires strong problem-solving, trouble shooting, and communication skills coupled with an excellent work-ethic. This position is an integral part of our production process and requires high attention to detail, promoting and executing safe work practices while ensuring the highest level of quality and on-time delivery.
Position Responsibilities:
- Process mold set-up and removal to ensure cycle time standard, quality standard and job packet specs are correct.
- Set-up and inspect molds and auxiliary equipment to ensure desired operational performance and safety.
- Communicate in a team environment with production associates and other related departments. (Toolroom, Changeover, Maintenance, Material Handling, Engineering) to ensure highest levels of quality and efficiency are met.
- Monitor production schedule in order to manage tool and material changes to prepare for upcoming runs.
- Trouble shoot and problem solve issues with tools, machines, prints, schedules, etc. to drive set-up, cycle time and material reductions.
- Communicate with the Scheduling Department as needed to review changes and other suggestions for optimal run conditions.
- Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organization on and around the production floor.
- Ensure optimal mold maintenance is enforced thru utilization of work orders and team communication.
- Ensure that all checklists and paperwork are complete with each new setup.
- Other tasks assigned by management.
- Willingness and ability to learn, implement and maintain 5S and lean principles.

Work Environment:
- Manufacturing Environment with molds, machines, forklifts, etc.
Hours and Travel:
- This is an hourly, full-time position. Must be willing to work a minimum of 40 hours. Willing and able to work weekends, holidays, and extended hours as needed.
