Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant with a strong background in manufacturing accounting and large data set analysis. This role is critical to ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial reporting, cost accounting, and operational data. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of standard costing, inventory, and production accounting, coupled with advanced Excel skills and experience working with large volumes of financial and operational data.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review monthly financial statements, journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.
- Lead and manage cost accounting functions, including standard cost development, variance analysis (PPV, labor, overhead), and inventory valuation.
- Partner with operations and supply chain teams to provide financial insight on production costs, margins, and efficiency metrics.
- Analyze and interpret large data sets using Excel, ERP systems, and BI tools to identify trends, cost drivers, and performance improvement opportunities.
- Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end close processes.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning processes with detailed financial modeling.
- Assist with internal and external audits by providing supporting documentation and responding to inquiries.
- Evaluate and improve internal controls, processes, and systems to enhance efficiency and compliance.
- Mentor and support junior accounting staff as needed.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA preferred).
- 5–8 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of standard costing, inventory management, and manufacturing KPIs.
- Proven ability to manipulate, analyze, and interpret large data sets.
Skills & Competencies:
- Advanced proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, Power Query, etc.).
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar).
