About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced National Purchasing Specialist with a strong background in mainframe systems, homebuilding, and residential construction purchasing. In this role, you will be responsible for managing procurement activities on a national scale, ensuring cost-effective sourcing, contract negotiations, and supplier relationships that support residential construction projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Procurement: Manage national purchasing efforts for materials, supplies, and services related to residential construction.
- Supplier & Vendor Management: Establish and maintain relationships with national and regional suppliers, negotiating contracts and ensuring competitive pricing.
- Mainframe & Data Management: Utilize mainframe systems to track purchasing data, vendor agreements, and cost analysis.
- Cost Control & Budgeting: Work closely with internal teams to ensure procurement aligns with budget constraints and cost-saving initiatives.
- Contract Negotiation: Review and negotiate contracts with suppliers to secure favorable terms, pricing, and delivery schedules.
- Compliance & Quality Assurance: Ensure all purchases comply with company standards, regulatory requirements, and quality expectations.
- Collaboration: Work cross-functionally with construction teams, project managers, and finance departments to optimize purchasing strategies.
- Market Analysis: Monitor industry trends, pricing fluctuations, and supply chain risks to proactively adjust procurement strategies.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of purchasing experience in residential construction or homebuilding.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in mainframe systems for procurement and data management.
- Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of residential construction materials, vendors, and supply chain processes.
- Negotiation Skills: Proven ability to negotiate contracts and supplier agreements effectively.
Salary : $80,000 - $100,000
