Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Nurse Practitioner to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in internal medicine and be adept at providing comprehensive patient care. This role involves working in a dynamic environment, where you will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating patients across various age groups. You will play a crucial role in patient education and care coordination, ensuring the highest standards of health services. There is flexible scheduling Monday - Friday and on-call every other weekend.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments and triage to determine appropriate care needs.
- Administer IV infusions and injections as required, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
- Perform suturing and other minor procedures in accordance with established guidelines.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop treatment plans.
- Provide family planning counseling and education to patients.
- Maintain accurate patient records using Athena health or similar electronic health record systems.
- Participate in hospital rounds and contribute to the teaching of medical students or residents in a teaching hospital setting.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary, including ventilatory support when indicated.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Nursing with a focus on Nurse Practitioner studies.
- Current Nurse Practitioner certification and state licensure.
- Experience in internal medicine preferred; familiarity with triage processes is essential.
- Proficient in administering injections and IV infusions.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to educate patients effectively on health management.
- Experience working in a hospital setting is advantageous.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team while demonstrating leadership skills.
