What are the responsibilities and job description for the Hazmat Response Technician position at Lone Star Hazmat Response?
The Response Technician reports directly to the Lead Response Technician, with additional oversight from the District Response Manager, and is part of the Field Operations Team.
The role of the Response Technician is to assist the Lead Response Technician in all functions related to field work relative to Emergency Response work, or other scheduled field work, and as instructed by our company Kingdom Purpose, “to care for it and maintain it.” Also, the following Core Values should be the guiding principles in all decisions, both long term and short term.

The Response Technician is to support all positions of those above the Lead Response Technician, while learning about all aspects of the work of Lone Star Hazmat Response, LLC. Specific tasks for the Response Technician is as follows:
· Perform emergency response activities including, but not limited to chemical, fuel, and water spills, environmental and biological contamination, and facility or equipment decontamination.
· Wear and properly use a variety of Levels A, B, C, or D personal protective equipment (PPE). This includes respirators, skin, face, hand, and foot protection in multiple combinations.
· Works in various temperatures indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions: including extreme heat and cold while wearing various levels of PPE.
· Works in atmospheres and locations with the potential for exposure to various chemicals, physical agents, or traffic, some of which may be hazardous, toxic, or corrosive.
· Assist in field sampling activities.
· Can work extended hours (>8 Hrs.) time periods, and if willing to work on-call 24 hours/ day, 7 days/week including weekend ends and holidays when scheduled to be on call.
Qualifications for Response Technician:
· High School Diploma or equivalent as allowed by management.
· 0-6 months industry related experience.
· Valid Class “C” driver’s license that passes approval by current company insurance provider.
· Able to take and comply with directions and perform multiple tasks as requested by supervisor(s).
· Must be able to pass Hazwoper physical.
Job Promotion or Pay Raise Considerations:
· Driver License Upgrade to Class A CDL License (and any endorsements will be considered as well).
· Equipment Operating Skills (such as skid steer, mini-excavator, backhoe, or others).
· Zero driving violations for extended period (extended to mean 1 year at minimum).
· Zero disciplinary actions within company or with society law enforcement.
· Firefighting or Emergency Medical training or equivalents.

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
