Position Overview:
Lone Star Neurology is seeking a detail-oriented, compassionate Medical Assistant to join our team. This position is ideal for an entry-level candidate or a pre-med student taking a gap year, offering the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a professional clinical setting. Initial training and primary office duties will be based in Frisco, TX, with occasional reimbursed travel to our other clinic locations around the metroplex.
The ideal candidate will be patient-focused, collaborative, and committed to providing the highest standard of care while maintaining a professional and compassionate environment for both patients and colleagues.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Medical Assistant, you will be responsible for a range of clinical and administrative duties, including but not limited to:
- Checking patients in and out of the clinic
- Verifying and updating patient information
- Rooming patients and taking vital signs
- Performing medication reconciliation
- Scheduling and assisting with non-invasive neurological procedures
- Administering injections as directed by providers
- Maintaining medical equipment and managing inventory
- Handling inbound and outbound phone calls
- Cleaning and preparing patient rooms for appointments
- Scanning and processing medical documents
- Occasionally traveling to other clinic locations for training or coverage (reimbursed)
- Assisting medical staff and providers remotely through eClinicalWorks
- Communicating clearly and professionally with providers, managers, and coworkers
Qualifications:
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team setting
- Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance
- A neat, clean, and professional appearance and demeanor
- Willingness to accept constructive feedback and make improvements based on input from peers and supervisors
- Humble, open-minded approach to learning and growing within the team
Preferred:
- Previous experience or coursework related to healthcare or patient care is a plus
- Ability to travel occasionally to other clinic locations for training or coverage
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
