What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Assistant position at Lone Star Neurology?
We are looking for either an experienced Medical Assistant or a pre-med student taking a gap year to join our practice. This position may involve occasional reimbursed travel to our other clinic locations around the metroplex.
We are looking for a candidate who is detail-oriented and focused on patient care, and candidates should be able to promote a compassionate culture by operating in a professional and collaborative fashion with patients and colleagues. This medical assistant position is full time, in person, and duties include but are not limited to the following:
- checking patients in and out
- verifying patient information
- rooming patients and checking vitals
- verifying patient information
- medication reconciliation
- scheduling and performing non-invasive neurological procedures
- administering injections
- maintaining equipment and inventory
- handling inbound and outbound phone calls
- cleaning and preparing patient rooms
- scanning and processing documents
- occasional reimbursed travel to other clinic locations
- assisting medical assistants and providers in other locations through eClinicalWorks
- communicating clearly with providers, managers, and coworkers
QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to maintain confidentiality & HIPAA compliance
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to mutitask and prioritize tasks effectively
- Demonstrates critical thinking skills
- Ability to work cooperatively and effectively with others
- Displays a neat, clean, professional appearance and demeanor

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
