Scale Clerk

Functional Summary

The scale clerk will be be responsible for running the scales, dispatching trucks, and other tasks around scale house operations.

Key Responsibilities:

The responsibilities of the scale clerk include, but not limited to:

• Utilize the scale hours program to log in trucks to system, weighing the trucks, set up trucks in system, set up job orders, set up customers
• Print Scale tickets
• Keep accurate records for billing purposes
• Generate and send out reports as needed
• Entering fuel and equipment usage
• Basic office duties such as data entry, filing, scanning, etc
• Perform other duties as assigned

• Promote, execute and adhere to the company's safety policy, and encourage all employees, subcontractors and consultants to adopt safety as a culture.
• Work in a safe, responsible manner to not intentionally or unintentionally injure oneself, or endanger the wellbeing of others.
• Promote a team approach and maintain dialogue with all employees to exchange information and gather ideas.
• Collaborate with any project teams on other special initiatives, as required.

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED but not required

Work Experience

• Minimum 0-1 years' experience within the road construction industry
• Scale House experience is preferred
• Basic knowledge of Word, Outlook and Excel is preferred
• Bilingual is a plus

Working Conditions

• Work hours are from 6am-4pm with occasional Saturday hours
• Overtime as required.
• Must comply with the company's drug and alcohol testing requirements.
