ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
LoneStar Fasteners is looking for the right, qualified individual to join our team!! We have 1 immediate need for a QC Inspector opening (full-time) at our facility in Spring, TX!
- Comply with all company policies and procedures including Health, Safety and Quality Assurance policies.
- Report injuries, accidents, near misses or unsafe conditions to a Supervisor or Manager immediately.
- Ensure that work areas are maintained in a neat and orderly manner at all times.
- Carry out various tasks associated with visual and dimensional inspection, from first article through final inspection.
- Work with general or written instructions, inspection check sheets, standard inspection directives and procedures.
- Perform in process, final inspection, and test operations to assure quality standards for metallic components.
- Prepares parts for testing per documented standards and procedures.
- Complete required documents and paperwork relating to the inspection functions.
- Communicates inspection findings and/or problems associated with the product.
- Identify and report nonconforming conditions.
- Other duties may be assigned as deemed necessary by the supervisor/manager.
EXPERIENCE
- 1-3 years of quality experience in a manufacturing or machining environment; knowledge of ISO 9001 requirements preferred
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED); preferred
- Be able to speak/communicate in English
- Good understanding of customer requirements, API, ASTM, ASME, IFI and industry standards is desirable
- Knowledge of MS Office, including MS Excel, MS Word, and MS Outlook
- Able to read, understand, interpret and follow detailed work instructions and manufacturing specifications
- Able to follow detailed procedures and ensure accuracy in documentation and data
- Ability to adjust to changes without compromising Quality or Performance
- Must be able to work a shift schedule and overtime as needed, including weekends
- Blue print/schematics reading and interpretation required
- Previous experience with tools such as gauges (ex. Go and No-Go), pitch micro meter, comparator, and calipers
- Basic understanding of math skills (fractions, decimals, etc.)
- Forklift licensed preferred
- Must be willing to work a shift schedule
- Background in fasteners or similar industry preferred
- Previous experience with material testing is highly preferred
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Must be able to stand for the duration of scheduled shift
- Ability to manually load or unload materials onto or off of pallets, skids, platforms up to weighing 25-150 lbs
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close, Distance, Peripheral, Depth perception and Ability to adjust focus
- Manual dexterity using hands, fingers, and arms to push, pull, reach, grab, hold, lift, and hammer
WORK ENVIRONMENT & SCHEDULE
- Manufacturing and warehouse environment with multi step process production runs on different machines. High value highly customized components, long and large parts, and high precision manufacturing for critical service applications
- Noise Level: Moderate to High
- Temperature variable with season
- Work schedule is set for 2nd shift 1:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. with possible schedule change to extend hours
- Employees working 2nd shift schedule will receive a fixed shift differential premium of $1.00 per hour
