The Opportunity
Lonestar Forklift is looking for an ambitious Sales Intern to join our team in Houston, Texas from May 26 to August 15, 2025. As a Sales Intern, you will play a key role in supporting the Sales department, gaining real-world experience in the fast-paced heavy equipment machinery industry.
This is a unique opportunity to gain professional skills in client communication, negotiation, and sales strategy.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
As the Sales Intern, your key responsibilities will include:
- Business Development: utilize sales skills to contribute to lead generation and qualification projects
- Market Research: conduct research to identify prospective clients and emerging market trends
- Client Engagement: communicate with clients via phone, email, and virtual meetings to assess their material handling needs
- Product Knowledge: develop a thorough understanding of our products and services to better address customer inquiries
- Sales Support: assist with sales reporting, proposal drafting, and presentation creation
Required Skills & Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills, knowledge, and competencies:
- Current enrollment in a post-secondary degree program, preferably with a focus on business, marketing, or a related field
- Strong communication skills and interpersonal skills
- Interest in sales and a willingness to learn the heavy equipment industry and products
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Self-motivated with a strong work ethic
The base pay for this role is $15.00 per hour. This is a full-time, contract position from May to August 2025, based onsite in Houston, Texas.
