What are the responsibilities and job description for the Behavioral Health Technician position at Lonestar Mental Health?
Healthcare Technician works closely with each of the Clients and Medical staff, on an individual basis providing assistance in the areas of; medication observation and medical appointment scheduling, as well as overall client health, in an intensive inpatient health care facility. Radt-1 preferred.
Job Duties:
· Observation, documentation, audit functions, and record-keeping of all observed/inventoried/destroyed/prescribed medications.
· Assessment of patients with undiagnosed or diagnosed conditions and assisting in ascertaining clinical medication management with the Nurse Practitioner and Medical Director.
· Observation, documentation, and record-keeping of client health status.
· Works closely with Nurses/Nurse Practitioners/Medical Director/ LMFT/ and Case Managers on client health status and presenting conditions.
· Manages complete Medication Observation Record Sheets and system.
· Set all medical appointments for clients including medical, dental, and psychiatric as needed.
· Education and counseling for clients and other organizational health care providers on optimal use of medicines (e.g., proper use, avoidance of overmedication)
· Facilitation of psycho education groups
Requirements:
- 2 years of experience in a Medical Detox, Pharmacy, Mental Health, or Military Corpsman health services setting.
- Strong professional references attesting to a high degree of clinical judgment, customer service, punctuality, and professionalism.
- Clean DMV record and/or in accordance with company insurance requirements.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Company provides a 2-week training program
- Must have a completed TB Test, CPR/First Aid Certification, and Health Screening
Preferred Qualifications:
- Active license or certification in the medical field

Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
