About the Role
Our client, a leading developer of data center infrastructure, is seeking an experienced
Project Manager
to coordinate site origination and development activities across their data center project portfolio. The
Site Development Senior Associate (Project Manager)
is a critical part of the team, working in collaboration with Project Leads to manage schedules, task execution, budgets, and documentation for multiple projects in various stages of development. This role involves identifying risks and issues that could impact project timelines through a proactive approach and critical thinking mindset to mitigate those risks, drive results, and achieve project milestone goals and budgets.
Role Summary
The Project Manager will work in conjunction with the Project Lead to serve as a primary contact for projects, requiring excellent communication, relationship-building, and task management / organizational skills. You will interface with internal team members and external stakeholders / contractors to move projects forward effectively. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successfully managing projects in the data center, real estate, or other development industries. In addition to development experience, you should be comfortable with ambiguity, adept at managing priorities, and able to work effectively on a team with minimal oversight in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
Travel
Ability to travel up to 25% for company gatherings or site visits.
Location
Denver, CO (hybrid in-office role).
Compensation
105K$130K (Offers Bonus).
Responsibilities
Bring an analytical mindset and high level of attention to detail to understand project objectives, and proactively manage all aspects of the project to meet or exceed goals around schedule and budget while addressing potential roadblocks.
Clearly and effectively articulate project updates, using both written and verbal communication, to audiences of various seniorities, expertise, and backgrounds.
Schedule and facilitate necessary meetings and related action items to advance projects.
Participate in post-mortems, identifying areas for process improvement.
Propose process improvements to current project management methodologies, seek feedback, and take the initiative to implement those ideas with the team.
Build relationships and leverage partnerships with Origination, Development, Energy, Water, Engineering, and Construction teams to motivate and guide them in advancing projects in various stages of development.
Coordinate key diligence activities, including land diligence, entitlements and permits, environmental analyses, and other pre-closing activities, with internal Subject Matter Experts and outside vendors.
Manage project documentation, including project setup, tracking, vendor contracts, change orders, and project reports.
Prepare project handoff documentation for partner teams such as Business Development, Community Engagement, Engineering, Construction, and Asset Management in coordination with Team Leaders.
Mentor and engage junior staff in aspects of the development process.
Skills and Experience
Bachelors degree in a related field (e.g., business, construction management, real estate) and at least 5 years of experience in project management in the data center or real estate industry.
PMP certification or equivalent experience preferred.
Experience with land use / permitting / site diligence / pre-development civil planning preferred.
