The Student Affairs Department of the Long Beach Community College District is seeking highly-qualified individuals to be our Student Affairs Program Coordinator! The incumbent supports the College's efforts in the areas of Student Affairs, including but not limited to Student Health Services and Student Life, as assigned, to provide more purposeful programs, activities, and experiences to students outside of the classroom. Supports efforts to create and sustain college-wide, student-centered, and comprehensive cultural, educational, social co-curricular, and health and wellness programming for students. We are looking for someone who ensures all events and services are carried out by abiding by all district policies, procedures, and practices, as well as pertinent laws, regulations and codes. This position provides some administrative coverage for the program area. Experience in an academic setting is highly desirable. Duties
GENERAL PURPOSE
Under general supervision, supports the College's efforts in the areas of Student Affairs, including but not limited to Student Health Services and Student Life, as assigned, to provide more purposeful programs, activities, and experiences to students outside of the classroom. Supports efforts to create and sustain college-wide, student-centered, and comprehensive cultural, educational, social co-curricular, and health and wellness programming for students that cultivate full engagement in the College community and performs related duties as assigned.
DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS
Student Affairs Program Coordinator is responsible for providing direct, day-to-day organizational and technical coordination of programs and services organized through Student Affairs to support Student Health Services and Student Life initiatives, as assigned. The Coordinator ensures all events and services are carried out by abiding by all district policies, procedures, and practices, as well as pertinent laws, regulations and codes. This position provides some administrative coverage for the program area. Specific duties may differ by assignment and responsibilities will vary depending on the assigned program area and types of student groups, facilities and student events / activities that are delegated.

Qualifications
Education, Training and Experience :
Bachelor's degree in education, psychology, social sciences, natural sciences, business, public health, health education or a closely related field; and two (2) years of increasingly responsible experience in student life programming; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Master's degree in higher education, student affairs, post-secondary administration or a closely related field preferred but not required.
Licenses; Certificates; Special Requirements :
May require a valid California driver's license and the ability to maintain insurability under the District's vehicle insurance policy.
Meeting the minimum requirements of the position does not guarantee advancement in the selection process. Candidate qualifications will be assessed to determine those who meet and exceed requirements and are deemed most competitive amongst the applicant pool to proceed.
