Title: Pool Manager – Seasonal, Hourly
Location: Long Beach Country Club, Long Beach, IN
Overview:
Long Beach Country Club (LBCC), a cornerstone of the Long Beach, Indiana
community since 1924, is a family-focused haven celebrating over a century of
tradition. After our 2024 centennial, we debuted a fully remodeled,
state-of-the-art pool and a stunning new Pavilion. We’re seeking an experienced
Pool Manager to lead our aquatics program, ensuring a safe, fun, and memorable
summer for our members from mid-May through Labor Day.
Key Responsibilities:
Recruit, manage, and schedule a team of 10–16 returning lifeguards, verifying certifications and qualifications.
Oversee maintenance of our newly remodeled pool, including water quality and equipment.
Plan and coordinate special events like swim meets and pool parties.
Develop and lead swim lessons and a non-competitive, inter-club swim team for kids ages 5–14, including practices and activities.
Ensure compliance with Indiana health and safety regulations, maintaining a secure environment.
Collaborate with an assistant senior lifeguard who may cover shifts when off-site.
Qualifications:
3–5 years of aquatics experience, including 1–2 years in a supervisory role (or equivalent).
Current American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification (or equivalent) with First Aid, CPR, and AED.
Pool Operator Certification (CPO or AFO) required within first season—LBCC may fund for multi-season commitment.
Preferred: Lifeguard Instructor and Water Safety Instructor (WSI) certifications.
Proven ability to manage a pool facility and lead a team of 10 staff.
Familiarity with pool maintenance and Indiana safety regulations.
Strong communication and customer service skills for a family-oriented setting.
Experience teaching swim lessons and running youth swim programs.
Availability for 40 hours/week, mid-May to September, with flexibility for weekends and holidays.
Physically able to lift 50 lbs. and work outdoors in summer conditions.
High school diploma or equivalent; coursework in recreation management a plus.
Multi-season commitment preferred.
Schedule:
Seasonal, mid-May to Labor Day.
40 hours/week, with flexibility as needed.
Compensation:
