Job Overview
We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Camp Teachers in the Arts & Sciences to join our team for an exciting summer camp experience. As a Camp Teacher, you will play a crucial role in creating a safe, fun, and engaging environment for children. You will be responsible for leading activities, providing support, and ensuring the well-being of campers throughout their time at camp. Ideal candidates will have a passion for working with children and a background in childhood development, or arts, or sciences K-12, especially children 4 to 6 years of age.
Responsibilities
- Report to the Camp Director, and support a strong team of staff members.
- Supervise and engage with campers during various activities, ensuring their safety and enjoyment.
- Plan and lead recreational activities such as arts and crafts, sciences, and educational programs.
- Foster positive relationships with campers while promoting teamwork, respect, and an inclusive environment.
- Implement behavior management strategies to maintain a positive camp atmosphere.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding camper progress and any concerns.
- Assist with daily camp operations including setup, cleanup, and organization of materials.
- Provide support to campers with special needs or those requiring additional assistance.
Experience
Candidates should possess experience working with children in various capacities such as:
- Certified Teachers teaching K-12
- Early Childhood Education
- arts instruction
- science instruction
Preferred qualifications include of childhood development principles and special education practices. A background in behavior management techniques will also be beneficial in this role. Pay: $15.65 - $17.89 per hour
Expected hours: 21 – 25 per week
