The Permit Specialist facilitates the application processing of required permits, ensuring adherence to the state and local regulations. This role requires a detail-oriented individual who can manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. The Permit Specialist will liaise with various stakeholders, including government officials, contractors, and property owners to ensure a smooth permitting process while upholding the highest standards of compliance and professionalism.

About The Role
The Permit Specialist facilitates the application processing of required permits, ensuring adherence to the state and local regulations. This role requires a detail-oriented individual who can manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. The Permit Specialist will liaise with various stakeholders, including government officials, contractors, and property owners to ensure a smooth permitting process while upholding the highest standards of compliance and professionalism.
Responsibilities
- Review and process permit applications under state and local regulations.
- Interpret and apply state laws and local ordinances related to required permits.
- Assist applicants in understanding the permitting process and requirements.
- Coordinate with other departments and external agencies as necessary.
- Communicate the permitting process, fees, and required documentation to management.
- Address customer concerns promptly and ensure satisfaction through the permitting process.
- Ensure all permit applications comply with applicable laws, ordinances, and codes
- Assist in resolving compliance issues, working closely with other departments and external agencies.
- Maintain accurate records of all permits, inspections, and other related activities.
- Prepare and submit regular reports to management regarding permitting activities and compliance issues.
- Document, request, and process permit fees and submit them to the accounting department.
- Stay updated with changes in state and local regulations affecting permitting.
- Liaise with other departments to ensure a seamless permitting process.
- Coordinate with inspection and enforcement personnel to ensure compliance with all issued permits.
- Utilize permitting software to track and manage permit applications.
- Assist in the maintenance and updating of records in company CRM.
- Maintain an environment that embodies the company’s Mission, Vision, and Values.
- Remain in compliance and up to date on all company-wide live and digital training.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

- Skilled in reading, writing, and understanding documents, including instructions and safety rules.
- Experienced in presenting to groups.
- Able to follow written, oral, or diagram instructions; and solve problems with clear, step-by-step solutions.
- Ability to calculate all units of measurement.
- Experience working in the construction industry
