What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Worker (Per diem) position at Long Island Care Center?
Long Island Care Center is looking for a Per diem skilled Maintenance Worker to join their team

You will be responsible for applying basic fixes to equipment and building systems and ensuring all is functional.
The ideal candidate will need to have experience and solid technical knowledge.
Must have experience in maintenance
Responsibilities
- Perform minor fixes such as repairing broken locks, filling gaps on walls etc.
- Check control panels and electrical wiring to identify issues
- Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems
- Able to repair equipment (e.g. electrical bed)
- Conduct maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs
- Inspect and troubleshoot equipment and systems (e.g. ventilation)
- Check functionality of safety systems (e.g. fire alarm)
- Collaborate with workers and other professionals during renovations
- Report to the Director of Environmental Services facilities or maintenance manager for issues
- Knowledge of Fire Safety Codes, NYS and Federal regulations for nursing homes/healthcare facilities are a plus
Skills
- Experience using hand and electrical tools
- Very good communication and interpersonal skills, required
Job Type: Per diem
Pay: $19.42- $24.07 per hour
