Long Island Mental Health is a private practice in Miller Place, NY. We have been serving the community for over a decade. We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Mental Health clinician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mental health treatment and be committed to providing high-quality care to individuals facing various challenges. This role involves working with clients to develop effective treatment plans, utilize evidence-based practices, and foster a supportive therapeutic environment.
Duties
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients' mental health needs and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Provide individual therapy sessions to clients with mental health concerns
- Utilize evidence-based therapeutic techniques such as motivational interviewing and cognitive behavioral therapy.
- Utilize ICD-10 coding for accurate documentation and billing processes.
- Engage in crisis management when necessary, ensuring the safety and well-being of clients.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate care and share insights on client progress.
- Monitor and evaluate client progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary.
- Maintain accurate and up to date documentation of client interactions and treatment plans.
- Stay informed about current trends in mental health treatment and integrate new findings into practice.
Skills
- Proficiency in medical terminology related to mental health conditions.
- Strong understanding of crisis management techniques and strategies.
- Understanding of ICD-10 diagnostic codes and documentation requirements.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Ability to conduct thorough data collection for assessment and evaluation purposes.
- Competence in working with a variety of mental health concerns
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with clients and colleagues.
- Empathy, patience, and strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds.
