Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role located in both Great Neck and Bellmore, NY for an Ophthalmic Technician (must be willing to travel to both locations). The Ophthalmic Technician will be responsible for assisting the ophthalmologist with patient care, performing diagnostic tests, recording medical histories, and preparing patients for eye examinations. Additional responsibilities include diagnostic imaging such as fundus photography, OCTs, Visual Fields, and assisting with patient education and follow-up care.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Optometry and Ophthalmology practices
- Experience with Fundus Photography and other diagnostic equipment
- Ability to effectively scribe and document patient encounters
- Basic understanding of general Medicine related to eye care
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) or Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) is preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree or higher in a related field is a plus
Salary : $28 - $32
