What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part-time Staff - Event Attendee position at Long Island University?
Front of House Hours: Varies depending on show, primarily evenings and weekends. Very flexible schedule
Event Attendees main responsibility is assisting the managers with crowd control and for assisting the bartenders during the performance. Event Attendees also have the ability to work as a Box Office Associate. Event Attendees are also responsible for the following:
Making sure the concession stand and kitchen are clean and ready before and after a performance.
Selling of concessions or merchandise during a performance
Helping the managers with crowd controls for VIP events, Meet & Greet, etc.
Helping the managers with main set up for each performance. *This may require lite heavy lifting*
During emergency situations, helping the house manager guide all patrons out of the theater calmly and orderly.
Desired skills and traits:
Able to work well under pressure, in a fast paced environment
Customer service experience
Cash- handling experience. (Preferred but not required)
Excellent communication skills
Positive, can do attitude
Team player
Box Office Qualifications and Responsibilities:
Ticketing and assisting guest via phone or in-person, by email or in-person
Troubleshoot e-ticket access for customers
Proficiency in Microsoft suite
Prior ticketing software/POS experience a plus but not required
Strong communication and organizational skills
