Long-Lewis Chevrolet is currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Automotive Service Manager to join our team. This is a full-time leadership position responsible for overseeing daily operations in the Service Department. The Service Manager plays a critical role in ensuring an exceptional customer experience, driving departmental success, and supporting our service advisors and technicians in providing high-quality repairs and maintenance.
As the central figure between customers and the service team, the Service Manager is expected to lead with integrity, demonstrate outstanding communication skills, and maintain a strong understanding of automotive diagnostics, repair processes, and customer service excellence. Key Responsibilities
- Supervise, mentor, and support Service Advisors and Technicians to ensure efficient workflow and positive team morale
- Serve as the primary point of contact for service-related concerns, ensuring clarity and transparency with customers throughout the repair process
- Effectively manage repair timelines, special parts orders, and service bay scheduling to meet or exceed customer expectations
- Maintain open communication between departments including Parts, Sales, and Warranty to ensure a seamless customer experience
- Monitor and analyze departmental performance metrics, including labor sales, parts sales, customer satisfaction scores (CSI), and profitability
- Enforce dealership and manufacturer procedures, safety standards, and compliance protocols
- Address customer concerns or complaints with professionalism and resolve issues promptly
- Ensure employee accountability while also fostering a positive, team-oriented work environment
- Stay informed of industry trends and new technologies to ensure the department remains competitive and innovative
Qualifications
- Education:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Post-secondary education in Automotive Technology or Business preferred
- Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years in a dealership or high-volume automotive service center
- Prior experience in a leadership, supervisory, or management role is essential
- Certifications:
- Ford/Lincoln manufacturer certifications are a plus but not required
- Licensing & Driving Record:
- Must possess a valid, unrestricted driver’s license
- Clean motor vehicle report (MVR) required
