Long Painting Company (LPC) is currently hiring a Service Center Support Staff in our Kent location. LPC conducts some of the most complex construction and maintenance coatings projects in the Pacific Northwest. Industrial projects include shipyards, bridges, tank farms, factory maintenance painting, dams, and infrastructures. Commercial projects include campus facilities, schools, hotels, high rises, hospitals, and office parks. New construction and repaint projects range from $5,000 to several million dollars. LPC may employ up to 300 employees during peak months and typically conducts 25-40 projects at once.
The main role of the Service Center Support Staff is to facilitate mobes and demobes between the Service Center and jobsites in the field, process requisitions in a timely manner, manage inventory control, dispose of hazardous materials, repair small tools, and maintain safety standards.
You will be responsible for:
Requisitions, Mobes & Demobes
Fulfill mobilization and demobilization requests from the field
Quickly and accurately process requests from the field for equipment and sundries needed
Have a strong familiarity with products used in the painting industry, as well as acceptable substitutions for products that aren’t in stock
Inventory Control
Receive, unload, and place incoming inventory items in their appropriate locations on the shelves
Keep an organized and clean space around the shelves and service center counter
Provide a list of items that need to be ordered to the Service Center Manager as needed
Hazardous Material Disposal
Properly dispose of materials that are brought back from the field
Required Experience / Skills
Ability to lift up to 60 lbs. on a regular basis
Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
Experience driving a forklift
Ability to stand for an extended period of time
Experience tracking inventory
Excellent customer service skills
Familiarity with the painting industry, including both commercial and industrial paint products
Basic data entry and computer skills
Preferred Skills / Experience
Previous experience working in a warehouse environment
Previous experience with inventory control and customer service
Experience with tools and machinery; mechanically inclined
Hiring Requirements
Pass a pre-employment drug screen (including testing for marijuana)
Have reliable transportation and a driving record that is insurable
Show proof of citizenship or authorization to work in the United States
Pass a background check (typically 10 years back) to get into facilities such as plants, military installations, prisons, etc.

This is an hourly position, with a starting rate between $26 - $30 per hour, depending on experience. LPC provides generous benefits, including paid vacation, sick time, and parental leave. Medical, dental, life, and disability insurance are provided – the employee’s monthly cost ranges from $0 to $25 for an individual and up to $140 for entire family coverage. A 401(k)-retirement plan is provided with a matching contribution after one year of employment. Schedule is operations dependent, generally Monday – Friday, 7:00AM – 3:30PM. Flexible scheduling is expected and allowed to accommodate the various needs of the employee and the company.
