Hiring Trained Medication Aides (TMA) at the Long Prairie Care Center! Every other weekend. Must be 18 years of age and CNA certified.

SUMMARY
Administer medication per law, rules and standards of practice under the supervision of a registered or licensed nurse. TMAs must also demonstrate the ability to provide direct cares required for residents such as: Activities of Daily Living (ADL). TMA must have the ability to to properly take and record accurate vital signs on residents.
Vulnerable Adult Mandated Reporter
A mandated vulnerable adult reporter of maltreatment, neglect, and abuse of vulnerable residents/tenants. Required to report any alleged maltreatment, neglect, or abuse to your supervisor and appropriate state agencies.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
· Must be able to complete Essential Duties and Responsibilities of Nursing Assistant Registered
· Proper administration of medication
· Concise and accurate documentation as relates to resident care and medication distribution
· Accurately obtain blood sugar readings and vital signs
· Use correct body mechanics to ensure maximum safety for both employee and resident
· Implement and oversee best practices and guidelines
· Effectively communicate with residents, co-workers, and supervisors
· Dependability in performing tasks, duties and attendance

QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
· Successful completion of an approved vocational/technical training program for Trained Medication Aides.
· Registered as a Nursing Assistant
LANGUAGE SKILLS
· Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
· Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
REASONING ABILITY
· Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
· Must be able to deal effectively with stress created by sick residents, multiple tasks, noises, interruptions, and must be able to work cooperatively as part of the health care team while maintaining a pleasant demeanor. (Continuously)
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
· TMA Certificate
· Nursing Assistant training and current registration on Minnesota Aide Registry.
· Minimum of 18 years of age.
