Prep Cook

The Resort at Longboat Key Club is now hiring experienced energetic cafeteria attendant/prep cook, who will thrive in a HIGH VOLUME and FAST PACE work environment. Competitive pay based on performance. Hours are 8am-4pm, with weekends.

This is a hybrid position of Prep Cook/Cafeteria Attendant. Set up for the Cafeteria’s Food & Beverage Operations, transport supplies and food to service areas and assist the Kitchen with plating up employee meals and serving. Clean and maintain tables and equipment in Cafeteria. Assist in stacking clean plates and silverware.

Compensation: $16.00 - $17.00 / hour

Pay Range: $16.00 -$17.00 / hour

Duties And Responsibilities

• Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies/service procedures/standards.
• Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment. Use equipment only as intended.
• Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned work areas.
• Use correct cleaning chemicals for designated items, according to OSHA regulations.
• Set up and organize workstation with designated supplies and equipment, Replenish as needed throughout the shift.
• Check the working condition of dishwashing machine in accordance with specifications; rectify any deficiencies.
• Organize the breakdown area for drop off of dirty wares.
• Remove excess food, debris and film from soiled wares before placing them in the dishwashing machine.
• Maintain cleanliness and working condition of tables and equipment around Cafeteria.
• Clean and sanitize pots, pans, utensils and other kitchen equipment.
• Stock cafeteria lines with designated cleaned wares, utensils and equipment.
• Clean spills in cafeteria and work areas immediately.
• Clean garbage compactor and area as assigned.
• Remove excess food, debris and film from soiled silver before polishing.
• Set up equipment on buffet tables as directed
• Set up all Cafeteria equipment and plate requirements.
• Stack meals in hot carts and transport to cafeteria areas.
• Organize the breakdown area for drop off of dirty wares.
• Assist in breaking down buffet tabletop items and transport to designated areas.
• Ability to work a varied schedule that may include early morning, evening, night, and weekend shifts
  
  
  

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma/GED a plus but not required
• Previous experience a plus
• A thorough and deep understanding of professional cooking including basic techniques and working food knowledge.
• Understanding and knowledge of safety, sanitation and food handling procedures.
• Previous prep or line cook experience.
• Professional communications skills are required
