What are the responsibilities and job description for the Data Scientist Intern position at Longevity Holdings?
As a Data Scientist Intern at Longevity, you will apply knowledge of advanced analytic algorithms and technologies (e.g. machine learning, deep learning, artificial intelligence) to deliver better predictions and/or intelligent automation that enables smarter business decisions, improved customer experience, and drives productivity. Additionally, you will apply strong communication and story-telling skills to summarize statistical/algorithmic findings, draw business conclusions, and present actionable insight in a way that resonates with business/groups.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
Develop and validate data science solutions by identifying and gathering data, conducting data transformation and manipulation, modeling and analysis, and insight generation
Present analysis with a clear and concise narrative with impactful visualizations that articulate compelling and actionable insights
Collaborate with engineers, business users, and project partners to leverage their expertise into your data science solutions
Present insights and capabilities to internal and external leadership audiences, both technical and non-technical
Required Skills:
Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in a quantitative related field.
Proficient in Python and suite of associated machine learning tools. e.g. Numpy, Pandas, Scikit-learn, SciPy, and/or TensorFlow, PyTorch
Experience with natural language processing (NLP), large language models (LLMs), and generative AI (GenAI) tools.
Experience with data cleansing, feature creation, feature selection, value imputation and dependent variable analysis
Experience in SQL with querying and manipulating large datasets.
Able to write and speak persuasively, communicate proof-of-concepts, present results, and to effectively take notes
Able to approach problems through a statistical perspective and with the ability to reason about uncertainty and data distributions. You let the problem define your choice of models, tools, and approach to experimentation
Bonus: Experience developing, fine-tuning, or distilling LLMs.
