Longevity Holdings Inc. is seeking a Senior Underwriter to play a key role in the evaluation and assessment of pertinent information used to develop Life Expectancy Report for Life Contingent Structured Settlements. This individual will bring advanced expertise and industry insight to assess risk, ensure quality and consistency in underwriting practices, and support the continued refinement of our proprietary Database and underwriting methodologies.
As a senior member of the team, you’ll also contribute to process optimization, mentorship of junior underwriters, reconciliation of reports completed by other members on the team, and cross-functional collaboration with business leaders and consulting physicians.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
Conduct in-depth analysis of medical records to identify relevant information such as age, gender, medical history, lifestyle factors, and family history.
Oversee the development and refinement of Life Expectancy Reports using proprietary methodologies and underwriting guidelines.
Interpret and evaluate complex medical documentation and annuitant questionnaires, including lab results, diagnostic imaging (e.g., EKGs, echocardiograms), and specialized studies.
Apply expert judgment to assess impact of behavior and medical conditions using established criteria and contribute to continuous enhancement of those standards.
Review and validate records and questionnaire authenticity and completeness, criminal background checks, prescription history, to identify discrepancies, potential fraud risks, and impacts to their life expectancy based.
Summarize key findings from medical records, if provided, in a clear, concise format for physician consultants, ensuring timely and accurate communication to clients.
Perform annuitant calls as needed based on established guidelines to validate annuitants' answers and determine conditions and behaviors that may impact Life Expectancy based on established guidelines.
Provide guidance, training, and support to junior underwriters, act as a subject matter expert across underwriting operations.
Participate in cross-departmental initiatives aimed at process improvement, data quality enhancement, and product innovation.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in life underwriting, ideally in insurance, financial services, or a related health risk evaluation role.
In-depth understanding of medical terminology and disease progression, with ability to apply this knowledge in a risk assessment context.
Knowledge of Prescription information and impact on persons health.
Understanding of criminal background checks to determine behavior characteristics that may impact life expectancy.
Strong analytical skills and professional judgment to assess complex underwriting cases with limited precedent.
Proven ability to synthesize diverse information and make sound decisions based on available data.
Experience mentoring or training junior staff or serving as a lead on projects is strongly preferred.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience preparing technical reports and presenting findings to stakeholders.
Detail-oriented, highly organized, and committed to operational excellence, compliance, and continuous improvement.
Bachelor’s degree required; clinical or medical background a plus (e.g., RN, MD, MPH).
