Overview
Summer position starting in June of 2025! We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Camp Counselors to join our team for an exciting summer filled with adventure and learning. As a Camp Counselor, you will play a vital role in creating a safe, fun, and engaging environment for children. We go on many trips during the summer and spend a lot of time outdoors! You will be responsible for leading activities, providing guidance, and ensuring that each camper has a memorable and safe experience. This position is perfect for individuals who are passionate about working with children and have a desire to foster their growth and development.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and engage campers in various activities, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
- Plan, organize, and lead recreational activities that promote teamwork, creativity, and physical fitness.
- Provide support and guidance to campers in developing new skills and building confidence.
- Foster a positive camp culture by encouraging inclusivity, respect, and cooperation among campers.
- Maintain open communication with campers regarding their needs, concerns, and feedback.
- Collaborate with fellow counselors to create a cohesive team environment focused on camper success.
- Implement first aid procedures when necessary and ensure that all health protocols are followed.
Skills
- Experience in childcare or related fields such as daycare or babysitting is highly desirable.
- Strong classroom management skills to effectively lead groups of children in various activities.
- Knowledge of childhood development principles to support the growth of campers.
- Ability to educate and tutor campers on specific skills or subjects as needed.
- First aid certification is a plus; willingness to obtain certification if not already held.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with children, parents, and staff members.
- A passion for working with children and creating a positive camp experience for all participants.
