What are the responsibilities and job description for the Asphalt Skid Steer / Roller Operator position at Longhorn Energy & Transportation llc?
a leading supplier of quality, construction building materials in the United States, has immediate openings for a Skid Steer Operator to support the operations in the Asphalt division. This position will be responsible for Monitoring, directing and coordinating activities of project personnel to ensure projects progress are on schedule and within prescribed budget. Coordinates and collaborates with Project Manager, other Superintendent's, other Project Managers, General Contractors and the customer to implement successful project plans. Also scheduling, coordinating and supervising the work of all site operatives, ensuring that all work is delivered safely on time and within budget along with managing equipment and materials required.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
· Conducts a thorough check of the equipment before and after operation on a daily basis.
· Performs loading operations of various materials into a dump truck using the equipment.
· Performs stockpiling operations of various materials as required by project operations.
· Carries and transports various materials using the equipment within the machine limit of the capacity.
· Ensures that the equipment is operated within the limits of its specifications as indicated on the equipment manual.
· Ensures that the equipment is properly parked and shut-off on the designated location after operation.
· Ensures the cleanliness of the interior, exterior and accessories of the equipment is maintained at all times.
· Assists in the basic preventive maintenance of the equipment.
· Ensures that no alterations/modifications of any kind are made on the equipment unless approved by PED Management.
· Reports any findings during checking or operating the equipment to the immediate superior for proper action.
· Follows established safety guidelines, procedures and safe equipment operation practices.
· Performs other related job/duties as may be assigned by the superior from time to time
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
· At least 2 years of related work experience
· Someone who can lead by example and ensure that all your team members live by core values
· Ability to lead team members in actual construction as required by the project manager
· Excellent communication skills to convey information to others effectively.
· Ability to successfully organize, plan and prioritize work
· Experience operating heavy equipment including skid steers, loaders, graders, bulldozers, backhoes, etc..
· Mechanical knowledge to perform basic maintenance on equipment
· Ability to dig, build, and maneuver heavy materials efficiently
· Strong attention to detail and focus on safety protocols
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $27.00 - $28.00 per hour
