Who You Are:
We are seeking a candidate with a strong positive attitude toward customer service to act as a Lead Cook. This person will have a genuine interest in geriatric care and be able to motivate while maintaining relationship with staff and residents. The right candidate will always strive to do the best job possible, to be creative and to work towards accomplishing facility goals.
Position Summary:
The Line Cook prepares palatable and proper-portioned food for all residents and guests in accordance with production sheets, standardized recipes, preparation methods, portion control, time schedules and sanitary standards as well as serving procedures.
Accountabilities:
- Prepares food items on the menus for residents, guests, and personnel according to the Food Production sheets; following modified diets in accordance with diet spread as approved by the Consulting Dietician.
- Takes a lead and serves food from the production line during meal periods. Follows serving size standards and presentation guidelines.
- Demonstrates leadership skills and strong communication skill with cooks, managers, and front of house staff.
- Effectively communicates both verbally and in writing.
- Maintains work area and keep the department in compliance with OSHA safety standards.

Qualifications
Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
- Must have the ability to follow diet instructions and menus, know basic methods of preparing food in quantities, and are familiar with seasoning requirements.
- Must have a general knowledge of routine diets or where to find needed information.
- Must know how to operate kitchen equipment and use utensils to greatest advantage.
