We are seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and be knowledgeable in the field of veterinary medicine. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical support to veterinarians, surgical assistance, anesthesia monitoring, assisting with patient examinations, administering medications, collecting laboratory samples, and educating clients on proper animal care. The Veterinary Technician must be able to work independently and as part of a team in order to provide the highest quality of care for our patients.
Responsibilities:
- Assist veterinarians in providing medical care to animals.
- Assist veterinarians in surgery
- Establish and maintain venous access
- Administer medications and vaccinations as prescribed by the veterinarian.
- Monitor vital signs of animals and report any changes to the veterinarian.
- Perform laboratory tests such as urinalysis, fecal exams, and blood work.
- Provide nursing care for hospitalized animals.
- Educate clients on proper animal care and nutrition.
- Maintain records of animal treatments and medications.
Qualifications:
- Veterinary technician/ Assistant experience
- Proficiency in medication administration
- Strong animal care skills
- Knowledge of veterinary terminology and animal physiology
- Ability to handle dogs and other animals with care
- Familiarity with animal catheterization and restraint techniques
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $16.00 - $23.00 per hour
