Deli Worker

Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Deli Associate to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist in various tasks within the deli department, ensuring excellent customer service and maintaining a clean and organized workspace. This is a fast-paced environment. Team participates in Tip pooling. New team members will be included in the tip pool after they pass a knowledge test of the menu.

Duties:
- Prepare and serve deli products such as sandwiches, salads, and hot food items
- Handle food in compliance with health and safety regulations
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the deli area
- Assist in stocking shelves and rotating products
- Provide exceptional customer service by assisting with inquiries and offering product recommendations

-Prepare prepackaged deli items, pack them and label them appropriately

-Cut, slice and weigh deli items such as meats and cheeses

-Refill condiments such as salt, pepper, oregano and/or oil and vinegar

Skills:
- Experience in a restaurant or kitchen environment
- Proficiency in food handling procedures
- Strong understanding of food service operations
- Ability to learn and use POS.
- Listen to the customer the first time to ensure order accuracy

-Able to speak clearly when taking phone orders to avoid mistakes

-Memorize PLU codes used for Deli purchases

-prepare sandwiches according to customers instructions

-Use equipment such as ovens for food preparation purposes
