Pay: $22-$27/Hour depending on experience

We are committed to providing high-quality products and exceptional service to our customers. As we continue to grow, we are looking to add a Purchasing Agent to our team.

Job Summary:

The Purchasing Agent will be responsible for procuring plumbing, HVAC, and electrical supplies. This individual will work closely with manufacturers, vendor sales reps, outside sales and branch management to ensure the smooth flow of products into the organization. The ideal candidate will possess strong negotiation skills, industry knowledge, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Key Responsibilities:

• With direction, source and purchase plumbing, HVAC, and electrical products from suppliers, ensuring the best quality, prices and terms.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and sales reps.
• Maintain optimal stock levels, avoiding overstock or stockouts.
• Confirm purchase orders for receipt, accuracy, and pricing.
• Reach out to vendors about backorders to get updated estimated ship dates.
• Assist with reports and data gathering for product cross and/or vendor comparison. Solid Microsoft Excel knowledge is essential.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience: A degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field is preferred but not required. 3-5 years of purchasing experience or 3-5 years of experience in plumbing, HVAC, or electrical supply industry in lieu of a degree will be considered.
• Skills: Strong negotiation skills, attention to detail, and excellent organizational abilities are needed. Sound math skills, reasoning and logic are required. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; Excel knowledge is a must. Experience with ERP software (particularly Eclipse) or purchasing software is a plus.
• Knowledge: Familiarity with inventory management, supply chain processes, and industry-specific products within plumbing, electrical, or HVAC.
