Operations Manager
Major Job Responsibilities & Duties
Warehouse Management
Oversee all warehouse, shipping, and receiving operations.
Supervise warehouse personnel, including Warehouse Supervisors.
Ensure efficient execution of all warehouse functions and responsibilities.
Plan and implement strategies to maximize storage space.
Manage and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) for all warehouse activities.
Ensure compliance with customer-specific requirements for pallet configuration, labeling, handling, logistics, and timely shipments.
Administer forklift training and certification.
Manage labor hiring and termination decisions.
Develop and oversee temporary staffing resources.
Coordinate maintenance for all production equipment.
Facilities Management
Oversee all aspects of facility maintenance and preventative maintenance.
Ensure the security of the facility, including managing third-party security providers.
Safety Officer Responsibilities
Serve as the designated Safety Officer for the facility.
Develop and implement the Emergency Action Plan (EAP).
Ensure adherence to safety procedures, including training, personal protective equipment (PPE), and proper signage throughout the facility.
Minor Job Responsibilities & Duties
Coach and mentor team members, including supervisors.
Maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment.
Administer and update records, including the Building Maintenance Log, Hazardous Materials Disposal Log, and Recyclable Materials Log.
Oversee maintenance of the facility, vehicles, machinery, and equipment.
Support Quality Assurance and Quality Control in resolving quality issues and developing process controls.
Assist executive and general management with special projects as needed.
Serve as a backup for Warehouse Supervisors and be capable of performing their functions when necessary.
Requirements
Education : High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Experience : Minimum of 5 years in warehouse and / or production management.
Certifications & Licenses :
Valid driver’s license.
Forklift certification (required upon start).
Skills & Competencies :
Proficiency in material handling equipment, warehouse racking, production and packaging equipment, pallet-jack, and forklift operation.
Strong mechanical skills with the ability to operate and troubleshoot manual and industrial equipment.
Excellent organizational, supervisory, and computer skills.
Experience with inventory management software, ERP systems (Macola, SAP One), and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).
Ability to effectively layout and set up a warehouse to meet inventory needs, stock rotation, and damage prevention.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to plan, organize, and manage an assembly operation of up to 50 employees.
Physical Demands
Regularly required to stand, walk, reach, and use hands for handling objects, tools, or controls.
Must be able to talk, hear, and see with close, distance, peripheral, and depth vision, as well as adjust focus.
Ability to stand or sit for up to 8 hours.
Regularly lift up to 50 lbs; occasionally lift up to 100 lbs with assistance.
